MANDATE

The Association is a non-profit, with a clear mandate to raise and manage funds, which are then applied within our school to enable and enrich programs for all our students.

The funds come from various sources: donations, fundraising campaigns, grants, and gaming proceeds (gaming is operated by the AGLC – the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission Board).

The Association maintains a constant dialogue with the School’s principal, allowing us to respond to the School’s needs, and also to guide expenses for improved learning and programming for our kids.

These funds have been applied to a wide variety of activities in our school, such as: field trips, Elder visits, sports equipment, technology acquisition and upgrades, musical instruments, library books, food programs, and teacher recognition to name a few.

The operations and responsibilities of the Association are enshrined in a set of bylaws, which are officially registered with the province of Alberta.
